Israeli Defence Participation in Morocco
Israel opened its first national pavilion at Morocco’s Marrakech Air Show, according to a statement from Israel’s Ministry of Defence. The ministry stated that the event marks Israel’s first official participation in a defence exhibition held in Morocco since the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020.
Eight Israeli defence companies exhibited technologies at the show in Marrakesh. The participants include major contractors Elbit Systems, IAI, and Rafael, presenting systems across air, land, sea, space, intelligence, cyber, and digital domains.
Exhibition Details and Bilateral Ties
The Marrakech Air Show runs until Saturday at the Marrakech Royal Moroccan Air Force Base. The biennial event serves civil and military aeronautics and space industries.
The deployment follows recent diplomatic developments between the two countries. Last month, Israel and Morocco agreed to elevate their respective missions to embassies and appoint ambassadors following a meeting hosted by US officials in New York.
